Holidaying on Mt. Rosskopf, above Sterzing

Getting here in summer

In summer, you can get here by car (please do not follow the satnav). The last 7 kilometres to Sterzingerhaus are on a gravel forest road. Alternatively, you can take the convenient Rosskopf gondola from Sterzing. There’s a large car park next to the valley station, and the service runs from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sterzingerhaus is a 10-minute walk from the mountain station.

Getting here in winter

During the winter season, the only way to get up here is by taking the Rosskopf gondola from Sterzing. (It runs from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and there’s a large car park next to the valley station.) If you need a hand with your luggage, we’re happy to come and pick it up at the mountain station.

Directly into the city

The Rosskopf mountain station is just a 10-minute walk away. The Skytrek high ropes course, the bus station and direct access to the old town are located right next to the Rosskopfbahn valley station.

The train station and the Balneum outdoor and indoor swimming pool are around 20 minutes’ walk away. The impressive Gilfenklamm marble gorge is approx. 25 minutes’ drive away.
