Holidaying on Mt. Rosskopf, above Sterzing
Beautifully located near the Rosskopf gondola station, our mountain hotel and restaurant boasts a perfect view of the peaks surrounding the Wipptal valley all the way to the Dolomites. Getting here is surprisingly easy: the gondola valley station is a short walk from the centre of Sterzing, and the train station and motorway exit are both just a few minutes away.
Getting here in summer
In summer, you can get here by car (please do not follow the satnav). The last 7 kilometres to Sterzingerhaus are on a gravel forest road. Alternatively, you can take the convenient Rosskopf gondola from Sterzing. There’s a large car park next to the valley station, and the service runs from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sterzingerhaus is a 10-minute walk from the mountain station.
Getting here in winter
During the winter season, the only way to get up here is by taking the Rosskopf gondola from Sterzing. (It runs from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and there’s a large car park next to the valley station.) If you need a hand with your luggage, we’re happy to come and pick it up at the mountain station.
Getting here
by car
Take the A22 Brenner motorway, Sterzing exit. At the first roundabout, take the third exit in the direction of Ratschings. After about 2 km, at the second roundabout, take the first exit in the direction of Telfes. At the second bend before the church, continue straight ahead towards Mt. Rosskopf (do not turn into the village). Follow the forest road for about 7-8 km, drive past the tank on the right, and take the next turn-off on the left.
Please be aware that you need a permit to drive on the forest road –
our booking confirmation qualifies as a permit.
